The Leve (light) chair was first conceived as an exploration into the
steam-bending process, a process which generates efficiency in both the
structure and manufacture of the chair. Designed to test the limitations
of the material, the Leve is made from regrowth spotted gum, selected
for its qualities of environmental sustainability, high strength and flexibility.
The properties permit the minimum amount of material to be utilized without
compromising its comfort or structure. The result is a chair that is functionally
lightweight and comfortable, and beautifully delicate visually.
