06. DONALD COREY

DESIGN JASMINE HALL TABLE

Jasmine Hall Table is a gorgeous juxtaposition of sustainable materials: bamboo, stainless steel and 100% natural tung oil finish.

The silhouetted cutouts of a jasmine vine provide the structure for the table. The contrast of materials is balanced by the table's simple shape, thus creating an elegant, yet utilitarian piece of furniture. The silhouette designs would not only be limited to jasmine but could also be a pattern chosen by the consumer, therefore adding a mass customization opportunity that would appeal to a large audience.

Packed flat and user-assembled, the Jasmine Hall table can be shipped and stored efficiently and maintains a small carbon footprint.

DESIGN RED HOT HANDS

A fun set of functional art, the Red Hot Hands are laser cut from sheet metal and powder coated red to create a durable yet attractive way to give the customer a "hand" where needed.

Inspiration for the Red Hot Hands originated from the red hand signal used on cross walk lights in the States. This ubiquitous graphic took on a three-dimensional aspect to become a useful product with a fun element — the customer can bend them into place any way they like -- illustrating that good design doesn’t need to be serious all the time. The hands are both physically and emotionally engaging to the customer and also easy for the retailer. Packed flat in a padded pouch, they are space-saving and easy to ship and stock.

“Bill and a Prayer” holds mail, cards, and love notes or works as a bookend.
“Midas, hold these” is designed to hold jewelry and other dangly things.
“Jeeves, my keys, please” holds keys, charging phones, dog leashes, etc.
